Spring Fishing Package
~Minnesota Walleye Fishing~ Ely Minnesota Fishing~
SPRING EXPEDITION FISHING PACKAGE: MAY 16 thru JUNE 13, 2014
Enjoy some great spring walleye, nothern pike, and smallmouth bass fishing action on Birch Lake and the South Kawishiwi River in northern Minnesota. Take advantage of the superb Spring Fishing Package offered by River Point Resort in Ely, Minnesota-one of the best Minnesota walleye fishing resorts.
Birch Lake has long been considered a premier Minnesota walleye fishing lake with its 20-miles of virtually undeveloped wilderness shoreline offering little fishing pressure--unlike other area lakes--plus, a myriad of rocky points, bays, inlets, and islands to explore.
Discover the sensation of boating on a lake with 90% of the shoreline being federally owned. No other lake in the Ely area, outside of the Boundary Waters, has this amount of true wilderness shoreline without motor restictions. Discover the pleasure of viewing less shoreline development and more wilderness seclusion.
Discover the smell of fresh fish as you enjoy your private fish fry in a secluded bay on Birch Lake. Now, that doesn't get much better!
A recent fishing population report in the April, 2009 issue of the Timberjay Newspaper of Ely, Minnesota states:
"Birch Lake...holds a strong population of walleye...in the latest assessment the walleye catch was 16.4 walleyes caught per gill net. That's the highest gill net count than any previous assessment done on Birch Lake." This is considered exceptional.
"It's not a small lake-5,628 acres-but it (Birch Lake) has a bunch of 1- to 2- pounders, roughly three times the state average, according to DNR tests. Maximum depth is about 25 feet, so Birch might produce an opening day bite. . ." as well as northern pike..." (Minneapolis Star Tribune: "The Deadly Dozen (Minnesota) Walleye Lakes)
Noteworthy, is the influence of the fresh spring water flowing southward directly from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area via the South Kawishiwi River (River Point's east shoreline) into Birch Lake. This natural waterway out of the BWCA offers some great rapids fishing and steady, but gentle current action, giving this northern Minnesota walleye fishing resort some of the best Minnesota walleye fishing around.
Plus, you do not have to run your boat clear to the other end of 20-mile long Birch Lake to catch the fish....some of the best spring fishing lies right by River Point's strategic location where the two bodies of water join.
Try your luck with the superior Minnesota fishing package offered at River Point
