We have stayed at River Point Resort in Ely 3 times and have truly enjoyed each of our stays. The cabins are clean, well designed, very well appointed, and comfortable. We have stayed in a Chalet, the Secluded Shores, and most recent the Riverview. The grounds are beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful. Birch Lake is huge and offers great fishing.
In 2018 we treated our daughter and her boys to that “quintessential” lake vacation at RPR that I enjoyed in Ely as a boy in the 1960’s. They loved it, and still talk about their time up in the Northwoods and are anxious to return. The boys especially enjoyed the floating island/slide.
The fishing on Birch during our week in September 2020 was very good and we caught the fall color changing daily! With the close proximity to the the BWCAW we enjoy renting a canoe and taking day trips on Snowbank, Lake One, Fall Lake and others, allowing us to fish the “nooks and crannies” and enjoy the BWCA in comfort. Ely will always have a special place in my heart, and now River Point Resort as well, as it allows us to have the lake vacation we still enjoy in our senior years; and to do so in comfort.
I highly recommend River Point Resort for a great Northwoods experience. The best testimony we can give is that we drive 1600 miles from New Mexico each year to enjoy River Point Resort!
